Why we do this

The OC Santa Crawl is dedicated to helping put a stop to child abuse. By supporting the Eli Home, together, we are able to raise money and toys that go directly to the cause – The Eli Home. Each year we host the OC Santa Crawl, we get bigger and bigger, raising more and more money and toys for local children. Last year was the largest Santa Crawl to date – with over 1000+ Santas, raising nearly $20,000! OC Santa Crawl has raised over $40,000 and counting! Thanks to all you Santas for your support. We cannot do it without you.

The eli Home – Our Mission

The Eli Home is an Anaheim, CA based nonprofit organization that has focused on breaking the cycle of child abuse and family violence for over thirty-two years. Our Mission is to welcome, shelter, comfort, heal, encourage and strengthen victims of child abuse and neglect, and to prepare them to reenter the community to lead stable, non-violent lives, free from fear and intimidation – to break the cycle of child abuse.

Our History – 40 years of community impact

“Eli”, simply translated, is the Aramaic word for God, so Eli Home is God’s Home.

The Eli Home started in 1983 as a home bible study group in Mike and Lorri Galloway’s living room. This was the beginning of a passion that would drive a lifetime. Soon family, friends and volunteer professionals shared the dream and the first shelter for abused children and their mothers opened 18 months later.

Today the Eli Home is a multi-faceted faith based organization that provides services for over 1,000 abused children a year. The Eli Home now operates 2 shelter homes, a 13,000 square foot discount store social enterprise, corporate offices, Eli’s professional counseling and therapy staff, and organizational staff. Dedicated volunteers and board members support the mission. The Eli Home has a history of awards and accolades that include citations from U.S. Presidents George Bush and Bill Clinton.

Why Eli?

We want to open a window into the heart of The Eli Home, because you should trust those who are responsible for how your donations are spent.  The foundation of Eli is built on hearts of service, from the board, to the staff, and to its volunteers.  Through the years, our focus has never wavered in sheltering abused children and working to prevent family violence.  The journey has never been easy, but it has been joyful.  To this day, we still struggle with having enough money to cover all of our needs, yet and still, our hearts are willing, our hands are busy and our faith rings louder than our fears.

Eli has a “spirit of excellence” that inspires us to give our best to those who need it the most.  This spirit compels us to never give up, to fight the good fight when we need to, and most of all to love.
